You’re sitting in your favorite coffee shop and you decide that you want to know who you can meet in your immediate neighborhood. You dial in your favorite hook-up technology via cell phone, a signal goes out, and somewhere nearby someone gets your text message. You get to design your message, so it could be something as simple as “Sitting in Borders, love reading the classics” or “Avid runner in [your city].” The other person’s one-liner zooms back to you and the dialog begins. Presumably, once you’ve exchanged a few text messages and like what you see, you arrange to meet and voila! Instant soul mate. Well, maybe.
