Where are the Hotspots for Men?

If you’re single, female, and over 20, you’re probably wondering where to go to meet all those great guys. Take heart! Right here in a suburb of Dallas, Texas, we have the place to go – Arlington. That’s right - Arlington, Texas was voted number four on a list of best cities in the country to meet men, according to a survey in Men’s Health referred to in a recent Dallas Business Journal article. The Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau is really excited about this and plans to promote Arlington as a destination for “girlfriend getaways” because of its abundance of single men who attend all those Rangers games and go to Six Flags on a regular basis.
One might think that all you have to do is go to Six Flags or a Rangers game and voila! Your prayers for a guy will be answered. If you’re not in Dallas, you can assume this strategy will work in your city as well – just show up at all those high-testosterone venues and the rest is easy.
There’s just one little problem.
It takes more than showing up at a place populated by guys. Yes, you have to get out of your house. Yes, you must mingle in order to meet. But there’s a great deal more to the story than that. If your mingling is going to lead to co-mingling, you must bring to any venue an open heart with a clear vision of what you want.
Yes, go shopping at the Rangers game, or wherever you might meet men. By the way, lots of guys enjoy the arts as well. And let’s be real here. Lots of women don’t want to meet a guy who will make her a football widow within a year. So, explore the possibility of many, many venues where you can meet men. But take your shopping list with you and get ready to love and be loved.
